Extra Bank Holiday to mark The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

The UK will celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's 70th anniversary as monarch this year with a four-day weekend. The May Bank Holiday Weekend will be moved to Thursday 2nd June and an additional Bank Holiday granted on Friday 3rd June to create a four-day weekend to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The extra Bank Holiday applies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland so be sure to mark it on your company calendar but, if you're using BOOKADAYOFF for your staff holiday planner, you'll find the changes and addition to the Bank Holidays have automatically been applied to your calendar.

It's also entirely possible that your staff will want to make the most of the long weekend and may want to take more time off either side of it so, unless you use a staff holiday booking system, prepare yourself for a number of conflicting holiday requests!
